Always use the mildest detergent. Candle wax and chewing gum can be more easily removed if carefully frozen using carbon dioxide (cooling spray) or benzene. Do not use detergents containing ammonia or abrasive detergents such as scouring powder or metal polish. Screws on the furniture must be tightened at regular intervals. The type of gas lift used by SIS actually gets better with use! Caps are wearing parts which should be checked regularly and replaced approx. every 2 years. If caps become too worn down, the steel tubing may cause damage to floors.

Varnished wooden parts
For general cleaning, simply wipe with a firmly wrung cloth. It can be a good idea to wipe the furniture afterwards with a dry cloth. Particularly dirty surfaces should be cleaned using a firmly wrung cloth with soapy water or water to which a bit of washing-up liquid has been added.
Laminate surfaces
As above: We recommend using methylated spirit or benzene to remove pen or ballpoint pen marks.

Furniture textiles
Textiles can be maintained on a daily basis by vacuum cleaning. Non-fatty stains should be removed by gently rubbing them with a non-fluffy cloth wrung with soapy water or water to which a bit of washing-up liquid has been added. Always test any stain remover by applying it to a less visible place to see if it affects the fabric. Mattresses and cushions on sofas and beds should be turned over regularly, preferably once a week.
Steel frame
For general cleaning purposes, wipe with a cloth firmly wrung in water to which soap flakes or a little washing-up liquid have been added. Do not use solvents to clean lacquered metal.
